Weird Animal Monday: Blob Fish

Here’s what the Blob Fish looks like out of water.

Voted the “World’s Ugliest Animal” in 2003, here’s the Blob Fish. It inhabits deep waters off the coasts of mainland Australia and Tasmania, as well as the waters of New Zealand. This fish aren’t too big, but they look awful out of the water. The Blob Fish is actually shorters than 30cm, when in deep water. They live at depths between 600 and 1,200 m, where pressure is several dozen times higher than at sea level. Out of water they resemble a grumpy old man with a fish body, but in their deep sea ocean habitat, they look like any other fish.
