Weird Animal Monday: Pink Fairy Armadillo

A native to central Argentina.

We’ve all seen what an Armadillo looks like, and its dark color, but what’s this? The Pink Fairy Armadillo is only a fraction of a regular Armadillo’s size, and has a light pink color shell. If frightened, it will bury itself in just a matter of seconds. It spends most of its time burrowed, and is a “sand swimmer”, meaning it uses its front claws to agitate the sand, which allows it to swim through it in a torpedo fashion.
